Protein : RAP1A

Connectivity 95
Notes RAP1A belongs to a family of RAS-related proteins. These proteins share approximately 50% amino acid identity with the classical RAS proteins and have numerous structural features in common. The most striking difference between the RAP and RAS proteins resides in their 61st amino acid: glutamine in RAS is replaced by threonine in RAP proteins. According to one study it can suppress the transformed phenotype of a Kirsten transformed cell line and thus may be involved in the negative growth regulation of certain cell types.
